I just recently discovered Bloody Marys, and they're delicious especially on a pleasant sunny morning. It's a unique drink in that it's both hearty and savory. I came across this on NY Times, who did their research in providing what appears to be a perfect Bloody Mary mix. The lemon juice is a nice addition.
Ingredients
- 23 ounces (half of a large 46-ounce can) of tomato juice
- 6 tablespoons prepared horseradish
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (from 2-3 juicy lemons)
- 1/4 cup Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon Tabasco hot sauce
- Tito’s Handmade Vodka
- Garnish: Celery ribs, pimento-stuffed olives, bacon, lemon wedges, etc. (optional)
- Ice
Instructions
- Whisk together all the bloody Mary mix ingredients, Transfer to a bottle and shake well just before using.
- Mix 1/4 cup vodka with 1/2 cup bloody Mary mix in a shaker over ice; shake, strain, and pour into each ice-filled glass.
- Garnish with a leafy interior rib of celery, a wooden skewer of olives, and a lemon wedge.
Serves 4-6.
