An ideal drink for a summer afternoon that will please large groups. Preparation is very simple, even the tea infusion. Interestingly, I found this on the Huffington Post.
(To make simple syrup, mix equal parts sugar and water in a pot and heat while stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Let cool.)
Ingredients
(To make simple syrup, mix equal parts sugar and water in a pot and heat while stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Let cool.)
Ingredients
- 2 cups tea-infused bourbon (see below)
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 1/4 cup simple syrup
- 3 cups ice water
- Garnish: lemon wheels
- Infuse the tea: Combine 2 cups of bourbon and 5 spoonfuls of loose black tea or 5 tea bags. Let sit for 20 minutes, taste and let sit for longer if you think it needs to be stronger. It shouldn't taste bitter. Strain out the tea.
- Combine all ingredients in a pitcher and stir. Refrigerate. When ready to serve garnish with lemon wheels and serve with iced glasses.
